Journalist Visa |
This is granted to professional journalists and photographers for up to three months stay in India.
If you are intending to make a documentary in India, please contact the Press and Information wing in the Embassy. Please note the validity of the visa is effective from the date of issue. |

Journalist Visa Requirements |

Please choose Indian Mission as UK LONDON. |
|
(New forms requires 2 signatures, once on the first page on top right hand corner and once on the 2nd page) |

Please enter Full Names on Visa Application form as per your Passport including Middle Names if any. |
|
|
Two, 50mm by 50mm size photographs ( Larger than passport size ) |
|
|
Original Passport with at least 2 blank pages and 190 day validity remaining |
|
|
Letter from Employer stating purpose of Travel, detailed program and places to be visited for journalism purposes. |
|
|
Individuals/Companies who wish to film documentaries in India are required to submit the following in addition to the above. |

Undertaking in the prescribed form |

Script/Synopsis. |
|
|
Details of location where documentary is to be filmed |
|
List of cinematic equipment to be imported to India |
|
This will be information will be forwarded to concerned authorities in New Delhi for clearance. |
|
Please allow 10 weeks for clearance to be obtained. |
|
Only applicants signature may be written by hand on the Online Application Form |

Non UK Passport Holders |
| |
- Stamp of Indefinite Stay OR
- Utility Bills, Includes, Landline Telephone, Gas, Electricity, Water, Council Tax Bills and Tenancy Agreement.
- Mix and Match Utility Bills will not be accepted.
- Bank Statements will not be accepted.

For NON UK passport holder who does not have proof of residency in the UK for more than 2 years, the Visa processing time is 15 to 20 working days. They are required to fill in a NON UK resident form and an extra £10 fee is chargeable. (Example of text is on our ‘Other Application form’ on home page). |
